The meeting of Marina Pointe Homeowners Association was called to order at 7:17 p.m. at Marina Pointe’s Pool Area.

Brian Heiman , president, stated that future meetings will be determined for another day or time.

The first item on the agenda was the budget of Marina Pointe.  It was decided by the Board of Directors that the Marina Pointe assessments will be raised to $45.00 effective the first quarter 2009.  The raise in the assessment will pay for all capital improvements for our development.  By raising the assessment the homeowners will not have to pay for capital improvements that are decided on.  The raise in assessment increase was approved with a motion first by Jasper Briggs and second by Mary Huntington.

The second item on the agenda was for the parking spots in the development.  The visitors parking will be based on 50% for guest and 50% for resident.  In the event  there is an odd number of spots, the greater will go for visitors parking.  This motion was first by Mary Huntington and second by Jasper Briggs

Signage will be put in the parking area to distinguish what parking spots are guest parking and what is residence parking.  The Board explained that any resident vehicles that are kept in the resident parking for 24 hours  a detail police officer will be contacted with possible towing of vehicle.

The third item on the agenda was the proposal of cameras in the pool area.  The suggestion was that 3 to 4 cameras be installed in the pool area that will capture the vandalism in the pool and possibly capture other violations in the surrounding area.  The cost of the cameras will be from the Marina Pointe Funds.

There were concerns of vandalism of the camera.  Brian and Jasper stated that the cameras would be positioned high enough where there should not be problems encountered.  It was also suggested that cameras be put at the gate entrance.  Brian stated that that can be discussed at a later date and that the focus was on the pool area first because of the lack of funds.

The fourth item on the agenda was that the City has allowed communities the right to install speed bumps or tables in developments.  It was motioned 1st by Jasper and second by Mary Huntington that we go forward in getting proposals and installing the speed bumps.  It was also discussed that the resident home where the speed bump is installed would get $100 worth of beautification landscaping  near the speed bump.

The fifth item on the agenda was the Board discussed the idea of getting quotes for the maintenance in Mariana Pointe.  No one felt the current company was not doing a good job but they were concerned with if we were getting the best job for the money.

The sixth item on the agenda was Brian Heiman stated that our Homeowners Association was in need of three different committees.  The committees are as follows:  1) Code Enforcements & Modifications 2)Finance and Budgeting  3) Social Relations and News.  It was suggested that the resident that are interested go on the website to indicate their interest in what committee.

The meeting was opened to Open Forum.  There was a concern on the homeowners doing mechanic work from their garage.  It was explained that if anyone see this type of activity in the community that the address should be noted and forwarded to Mabel at Pines Property.  Also another item of concern was with sidewalks that were destroyed by the AT&T contracted workers.  It was explained that anyone that have problems with the completion of the work that was performed by the contracted group with AT&T that the resident be responsible to call AT&T direct themselves to get the problem corrected.  Also, there were questions of trees in the swells removal because of the roots breaking the streets and sidewalks.  Many homeowners shared concerns that the streets, sidewalks and driveways were being cracked due to the roots on the trees.  Brian stated that the resident should take pictures and follow-up with Mabel at Pines Property.

The meeting adjourned  at 8:15pm.
